Daily Fantasy Basketball NBA Preview Monday 3/19/12

Fantasy BasketballThe National Basketball Association schedule has just six games on the slate for Monday, but there are plenty of bargains to be found. Look to the Mavericks-Nuggets game for some huge bargains, as all but one player is $122K or lower in price. The Bulls-Magic should be a very entertaining game, but for fantasy purposes the 76ers-Bobcats game might be better. The Bobcats are atrocious, so Philly might enjoy some big stat lines.

Philadelphia 76ers at Charlotte Bobcats 7pm ET

Swingman Evan Turner struggled against the Bulls Saturday, posting just 15 fantasy points. It was his lowest production since a 12-point effort March 4, also against the Bulls. He should return to his 20-plus fantasy point performance against the lowly Bobcats, and he is a nice mid-level buy at $135K. 76ers C Spencer Hawes (Achilles’) might play without restrictions in this one. At $88K, he is a nice speculative pick, especially if can resemble his early season form. 76ers PG Jrue Holliday atoned for a 3-for-16 night Friday, by posting 39 fantasy points on 13-of-27 shooting Saturday against Chicago. At $115K, he is hard to avoid.

Cleveland Cavaliers at New Jersey Nets 7:30pm ET

Nets PG Deron Williams (calf) returned from a calf injury Saturday after a four-game absence. He posted 34 fantasy points, tallying 20 points with 12 assists. He is a solid play at $174K, especially against the lowly Cavs. SG/PG Daniel Gibson ($71K) has been erratic for the Cavs lately, but Boobie is getting plenty of burn. He has 20-25 fantasy point ability, which makes him a decent buy at this price level with a light schedule. Nets swingman Anthony Morrow was not dealt at the trade deadline, and he celebrated with 25 fantasy points Saturday against New Orleans. He has 17 or more fantasy points in six of his past seven games, making him a solid addition at $85K.

Boston Celtics at Atlanta Hawks 7:30pm ET

Hawks C Zaza Pachulia ($96K) has racked up 20 or mroe fantasy points in each of his past five games, and eight of the past nine. At this price level, he is an absolute steal. Hawks SG/PG Tracy McGrady might actually be a good play in this one. Yes, he is still in the league! He has 14 or more fantasy points in two of his past three games, and four of the past seven games in which he has been active. He is always a huge gamble due to his propensity for injury, but there isn’t much risk at just $56K. Celtics SG Ray Allen ($109K) was not moved at the deadline. He has managed 18 or more fantasy points in seven of his past nine games.

Chicago Bulls at Orlando Magic 8pm ET

Bulls PG Derrick Rose (groin) has yet to resume any running, so needless to say it is doubtful he plays in this one. Avoid him at $186K. Bulls PG C.J. Watson ($77K) drew another start in place of Rose Saturday, and he posted 28 fantasy points against the 76ers. He has averaged 19.3 fantasy points over his past three games. Magic swingman Jason Richardson ($91K) has averaged 22 fantasy points per game in two outings since returning from injury. He had 18 fantasy points in the last meeting against Chicago March 8.

Dallas Mavericks at Denver Nuggets 10:30pm ET

Nuggets C JaVale McGee ($122K) is expected to make his debut after his deadline trade from Washington. He had 23 or more fantasy points, including a pair of 40-point outings, in a four-game stretch before he was shipped out of D.C. Nuggets PG Ty Lawson ($114K) remains an affordable and solid play, as he has managed 22 or more fantasy points in nine of his past 10 games. Mavericks SG/PG Jason Terry ($115K) is averaging 25 fantasy points per game over his past three outings.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Golden State Warriors 10:30pm ET

The Timberwolves held C Nikola Pekovic (ankle) out of the lineup Sunday due to a sore ankle. The news came in late, and might have bitten fantasy owners. Play it safe and avoid him at $154K. C/PF Kevin Love ($208K) has 34 or more fantasy points in each of his past nine games. Warriors SG/PG Nate Robinson ($128K) has managed 26 or more fantasy points in each of his past four games, including a 42-point fantasy outburst March 14 against Boston.
