Daily Fantasy NBA Player Picks for Saturday 3/10/12

Fantasy BasketballIt’s Saturday night and there are nine games on the schedule in the National Basketball Association. A lot of hoops heads are focused on the conference tournaments on the college hardcourt, but there is always time for fantasy basketball.

Portland Trail Blazers at Washington Wizards 7pm ET

Trail Blazers PF/SF Gerald Wallace has done a little Jekyll and Hyde lately, serving as a fantasy stud one night, and a nightmare the next. In a game March 3 against Minnesota, he posted 51 fantasy points, then he had just 19 fantasy points against New Orleans March 5. Again, he faced Minnesota March 7 and had 35 fantasy points, then disappeared with just four fantasy points Friday against Boston. He usually performs well against weaker teams, so perhaps he’ll be a bargain tonight at $126K. SG/PG Raymond Felton ($86K) is averaging 22.3 fantasy points per game over his past three outings. Wizards swingman Nick Young has 59 total fantasy points in two games since returning from a knee ailment. At just $115K, he is a solid play.

Indiana Pacers at Miami Heat 7:30pm ET

Heat PF/SF LeBron James ($234K) will cost you a huge chunk of your salary cap, but he just might be worth it. James has at least 31 fantasy points in each of his past 10 games, and he had gone for 40 or more fantasy points in eight of the past 10. He posted 45 fantasy points in the last meeting against Indiana on Valentine’s Day. Pacers C Roy Hibbert has 20 or more fantasy points in nine straight games dating back to the last meeting Feb. 14 with Miami when he had just 19 fantasy points. Still, at $117K, he is a solid play. Pacers PG Darren Collison ($86K) has misfired on 11 of his past 13 field goal attempts over the past two games, totaling 19 fantasy points. That was his exact fantasy total last time against the Heat, 19 points.

Toronto Raptors at Detroit Pistons 7:30pm ET

Raptors PF/SF James Johnson has been dealing with a hip and thigh issue in practice, but he is expected to play. At $101K, he is a decent fantasy option since he has 24 or more fantasy points in six of his past eight games. Raptors PG Jose Calderon ($104K) had a seven-point fantasy hiccup last Sunday against Golden State, but he has totaled 53 fantasy points over his past two starts. Raptors SG/PG Leandro Barbosa ($78K) has 15 or more fantasy points in seven of his past eight outings.

Houston Rockets at New Jersey Nets 8pm ET

Rockets SG Kevin Martin ($109K) has seen decreased fantasy production in each of his past three games. With just nine fantasy points last time out against Toronto on 1 of 7 shooting, he can go down much further. Rockets PF/SF Chandler Parsons ($87K) posted 31 fantasy points last time out, and he has at least 13 fantasy points in each of his past 10 outings. Nets PF Kris Humphries ($125K) has 25 or more fantasy points in three of his past four games, including 43 fantasy points Friday in Charlotte.

Utah Jazz at Chicago Bulls 8pm ET

Bulls PG Derrick Rose has been solid with 26 or more fantasy points in nine consecutive games since returning from a bout with back spasms. At $183K, he can even be paired with another high-priced talent in hi-cap leagues. Jazz PG Devin Harris ($80K) is struggling again, as he had 17 or fewer fantasy points in each of his past four games after a four-game stretch with 23 or more fantasy points. Jazz PF Paul Millsap ($133K) has 28 or fantasy points in each of his past four games. Bulls SF Luol Deng (wrist) is unlikely to play after missing his team’s shootaround. Avoid him and his $118K salary.

Charlotte Bobcats at Oklahoma City Thunder 8pm ET

The Thunder were stunned by the visiting Cavaliers Friday night. They’ll look to take out their aggressions on the defensively-challenged Bobcats. SF Kevin Durant ($202K) has 39 or more fantasy points in eight of the past 10 games. He should explode for a huge stat line tonight. Bobcats PF Bismack Biyombo ($97K) has averaged 25 fantasy points per game over his past three outings. OKC PF/C Serge Ibaka ($128K) has 21 fantasy points in each of his past four games. He has three or more blocks in eight of the past 10.

New Orleans Hornets at Minnesota Timberwolves 8pm ET

Timberwolves PG Ricky Rubio (knee) is done for the season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered Friday against the Lakers. C/PF Kevin Love (back spasms) missed Friday’s game, and is an uncertainty for this one. At $210K, he is too big of a gamble. PG Luke Ridnour ($100K) is a must-start, especially with Rubio out of the picture. PF/SF Derrick Williams stepped up with 33 fantasy points in Love’s absence last night. At $89K, he is worth a look.

Memphis Grizzlies at Phoenix Suns 9pm ET

Grizzlies PF/SF Rudy Gay ($164K) has managed 30 or more fantasy points in nine of his past 10 games. Suns PG Steve Nash ($121K) has managed 26 fantasy points in each of his past three games. He has gone for 23 or more fantasy points in eight of the past 10. SG O.J. Mayo ($92K) has managed 21 or more fantasy points in each of his past three games, making him a tremendous value at this price level.

Dallas Mavericks at Golden State Warriors 10:30pm ET

After posting 28 fantasy points against Phoenix Thursday, SG Vince Carter ($84K) disappeared with just two fantasy points against Sacramento Friday. It’s his third game in three nights, and who knows what Vinsanity will do. He was 0 for 5 from the floor last night, which might be indicative of tired legs. Be careful. PF Dirk Nowitzki has 24 or more fantsay points in each of his past six games. He is a must-have at just $148K against a poor defensive team. Warriors C Ekpe Udoh ($109K) has 26 fantasy points in each of his past two games.
