Derrick Rose is unlikely to play Wednesday.
There are 10 games on the National Basketball Association schedule Wednesday, meaning there are 20 teams in action. There are all kinds of good fantasy options available, but beware of injuries to some big-name players. We’ve tried to scour the local papers and Twitter to get you as prepared as possible, but you just never know with those game-time decisions. Play it safe.
Denver Nuggets at Toronto Raptors 7pm ET
Nuggets C
JaVale McGee (
$120K) has fit in nicely with his new team, posting 22 or more fantasy points in each of his first four outings in Denver. Nuggets SF
Danilo Gallinari (thumb) is nearing a return, but he won’t play in this one. Avoid him at $99K. PG
Ty Lawson ($116K) exploded for 41 fantasy points Monday in Chicago, hitting 11 of his 21 field goal attempts. He has 19 or more fantasy points in seven of his past 10 games. Raptors G
Jerryd Bayless (oblique) is out indefinitely with a partial tear of his left oblique muscle. Swingman
DeMar DeRozan (ankle) is expected to play after missing the past two games. At $117K, he is a solid play.
Orlando Magic at New York Knicks 7pm ET
Magic PF/C
Glen Davis (head) suffered a gash to his forehead which required five stitches, but he proved he is no big baby despite his nickname. He finished the game, and will play in this one. Davis has 20 or more fantasy points in each of his past three games, making him a solid buy at $92K. PF/C
Ryan Anderson (
$121K) posted eight 3-pointers Monday against Toronto, and he has managed 31 or more fantasy points in each of his past three outings. F
Carmelo Anthony (groin) is nursing a groin injury, but he intends to play. Still, at $148K, fantasy owners might want to go another way just in case he has a setback. PG
Jeremy Lin (groin) is has been ruled out, so save your $114K.
Minnesota Timberwolves at Charlotte Bobcats 7pm ET
Timberwolves PF/C
Kevin Love (
$233K) has averaged 50 fantasy points per game over his past five outings, and he should take part the Bobcats and their weak soft middle. Bobcats C
Byron Mullens ($93K) has posted 28 fantasy points in back-to-back games. Timberwolves PG
Luke Ridnour, dealing with an assortment of injuries, hit just four of his 13 field goal attempts Monday, finishing with 16 fantasy points. Avoid him at $98K. PG
J.J. Barea ($116K) will miss his third straight game due to a thigh injury.
Detroit Pistons at Cleveland Cavaliers 7pm ET
Cavaliers PF
Antawn Jamison (hand, leg) is banged up right now. He played through a leg contusion Tuesday, and suffered a right hand injury during the game. He misfired on nine of his 14 field goal attempts. At $120K, he is just too risky since he is so banged up. Cavs G
Daniel Gibson (foot) has a torn tendon in his left foot, and he is unlikely to return this season. Avoid him at $66K. Pistons C
Greg Monroe (
$123K) posted a double-double Monday against Washington, and he picked up his first blocked shot in three games. He posted 19 points with 11 rebounds, seven assists and three steals in his last game against the Cavs back on Feb. 21.
Utah Jazz at Boston Celtics 7:30pm ET
Jazz SG
Raja Bell (knee) might require microfracture surgery after the season, although he will try to play through pain down the stretch. He won’t play in this one, and should be generally avoided, even at $66K. Jazz SG
Alec Burks has managed 20 or more fantasy points in three straight starts, and five of the past eight. At just
$81K, he is a solid addition to most lineups. Celtics PF/C
Brandon Bass ($108K) has posted 22 or more fantasy points in each of his past four games, and he has 19 or more fantasy points in nine of the past 10.
Indiana Pacers at New Jersey Nets 7:30pm ET
Pacers PF
Tyler Hansbrough (nose, facial) has a broken nose and facial bone, but he plans to play with the injury. Still, at $68K, you can probably do better elsewhere. Who knows how he’ll be affected? Swingman
Anthony Morrow (shoulder) might be able to return after missing Monday’s game, but he is a question mark. At $72K, it might be a good idea to go another way. Nets SG
Jordan Farmar (groin) will not play in this one. Nets PF/SF
Gerald Wallace (
$126K) has 19 or more fantasy points over his first six games with his new team.
Chicago Bulls at Atlanta Hawks 7:30pm ET
Bulls PG
Derrick Rose ($186K) is expected to sit again, so don’t risk a huge chunk ($186K) of your salary. Swingman
Richard Hamilton (shoulder) might be able to play, but he is not worth using, even at just $59K. Bulls PG
C.J. Watson (
$97K) continues to see meaningful playing time with Rose out, and he is averaging 24.3 fantasy points per game over his past three. Hawks PF/SF
Josh Smith ($215K) has posted 51 or more fantasy points in three of the past five games, including 55 fantasy points in his last game Tuesday against Milwaukee.
San Antonio Spurs at Sacramento Kings 10pm ET
Spurs C
Tiago Splitter (back) is unlikely to return, so save your $86K. There is likely no rush, either, as PF/C
DeJuan Blair (
$95K) has played pretty well in his stead. Blair managed just 11 fantasy points Tuesday in a win against Phoenix, but he has averaged 24.7 fantasy points per game over the past three. Spurs PF/C
Tim Duncan rested Sunday, but he was back with a vengeance Tuesday in Phoenix, posting 40 fantasy points. He is a safe play at $163K. Kings SG/PG
Tyreke Evans ($133K) has averaged 26.5 fantasy points per game over his past four outings since returning from a sprained left ankle.
Phoenix Suns at Los Angeles Clippers 10:30pm ET
Suns PF/SF
Grant Hill (knee) is hopeful of playing after missing Tuesday’s contest against San Antonio. He had 20 or more fantasy points in five of his past six games before sitting. Still, at $97K, there is some risk, so you might want to go another way. Clippers PG
Mo Williams (toe) will be out at least a couple more weeks, so obviously avoid him at $71K. It’s good news for G
Randy Foye (
$79K) and swingman
Nick Young (75K), who should log plenty of minutes per night. Suns C
Robin Lopez ($64K) had six straight games with 10 or more fantasy points from March 15-23, but he has managed a total of just 13 fantasy points over his past two appearances.
New Orleans Hornets at Golden State Warriors 10:30pm ET
Hornets SG/PG
Jarrett Jack (
$138K) had an off shooting night, going 4 of 12 from the floor Monday against the Clippers. Before that, he had four straight games with 30 or more fantasy points. Take a chance on Jack, as he should rebound nicely. Last time out against Golden State, Jack posted 38 fantasy points with a triple-double (17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists). Warrior G
Nate Robinson (hamstring) missed Tuesday’s game. At $105K, he is too risky of a play, although he has not yet been officially ruled out. PG
Charles Jenkins ($57K) started in Robinson’s place Tuesday, and he had 48 total fantasy points over his past two games.
