Phoenix Suns at Toronto Raptors 7:00pm ET
Suns PF/C Luis Scola ($100K) went through a cold spell recently, posting a total of 24 fantasy points in a three-game span from Nov. 17-23. However, he has averaged 19.7 fantasy points per game over the past three, more than earning his mid-level salary. He appears to be on the upswing, and therefore is a great value. C Marcin Gortat ($109K) has struggled with his shot over the past four games, hitting just 13 of his 31 field goal attempts. His rebound numbers are down, too, and he has managed a total of just two blocked shots over the past five games. He admitted last week that he is not in game shape, and as such, his minutes have been decreased. Avoid. Raptors PF/C Ed Davis ($76K) has turned it up lately, averaging 19.8 fantasy points per game over the past four outings. He is a great value at this price level.
Philadelphia 76ers at Charlotte Bobcats 7:00pm ET
This game will be a contrast in styles, as the Sixers struggle to score, and allow an NBA-best 87.5 ppg. The Bobcats score a respectable 94.7 ppg, but allow 100.2 ppg on the defensive end, tied for second-worst in the Eastern Conference. PG Kemba Walker ($131K) has been a bright spot for Charlotte, although he is just two games removed from an absolutely horrid performance at OKC in which he missed all six of his shot attempts to finish with two fantasy points in 20 minutes. However, that performance actually helps prospective fantasy owners, because it chopped off some salary from his total. 76ers C Spencer Hawes ($75K) has cooled off, averaging 10.3 fantasy points per game over his past three outings. Bobcats PF Bismack Biyombo ($70K) has 20 or more fantasy points in two of his past three outings.
Brooklyn Nets at Orlando Magic 7:00pm ET
Nets swingman Joe Johnson ($106K) rolled up 29 fantasy points in his last outing against the Celtics Wednesday, his most production since he had 34 fantasy points Nov. 15, also against Boston. Johnson posted 21 fantasy points in his last outing Nov. 11 against the Magic. Orlando PF/C Nikola Vucevic ($92K) has posted a total of 49 fantasy points in two earlier outings against the Nets this season, including 14 points, 13 rebounds and three assists with a block Nov. 11. SG Arron Afflalo ($104K) has posted 19 or more fantasy points in four consecutive games, and he had 34 fantasy points last time out against Brooklyn Nov. 11.
Portland Trail Blazers at Boston Celtics 7:30pm ET
Celtics PG Rajon Rondo ($148K) will be suspended for the next two games, so avoid him in this game obviously. G Leandro Barbosa ($55K) should see an increase in production, making him a tremendous short-term daily fantasy value. Trail Blazers swingman Wesley Matthews (thumb) has been dealing with a thumb issue, as well as the flu, and he misfired on eight of his 10 shot attempts last time out as a result. At $129K, he might be a risky play until he can get back on track.
Washington Wizards at New York Knicks 7:30pm ET
Wizards C Emeka Okafor ($88K) posted 23 fantasy points in his last outing against the Blazers, his best production since he had 29 fantasy points five games against against Utah Nov. 17. Wizards PF/C Kevin Seraphin ($104K) might be a sharp addition at a mid-level salary. He has 57 total fantasy points over his past two games, and he has managed 23 or more fantasy points in three of his past four outings. Knicks swingman J.R. Smith ($108K) has managed just 18 total fantasy points over his past two games, making him an overpriced option at this price level.
Cleveland Cavaliers at Atlanta Hawks 7:30pm ET
Hawks SG/PG Lou Williams ($97K) has picked it up again, posting 46 total fantasy points over his past two games. He has 20 or more fantasy points in six of his past eight, making him a decent mid-level buy. Cavaliers swingman Alonzo Gee ($95K) has averaged 17 fantasy points per game over his past four outings, making him worth a look. Cleveland PF/C Anderson Varejao continues to scorch for his fantasy owners. He has 36 or more fantasy points in each of his past four games, and he is averaging 20 rebounds over his past two outings. Varejao also has 15 or more rebounds in six consecutive games, making him well worth the investment of his $165K salary.
Detroit Pistons at Memphis Grizzlies 8:00pm ET
Pistons PF Charlie Villanueva ($94K) has averaged 23.0 fantasy points per game over his past three outings, making him a sensational play at this price level. Grizzlies C Marc Gasol ($141K) continues to roll right along, posting 26 or more fantasy points in seven consecutive games. He is a tremendously consistent fantasy option well worth the salary. Pistons PF Jason Maxiell ($76K) has tailed off lately, but he has managed a total of 35 fantasy points over his past two outings.
Utah Jazz at Oklahoma City Thunder 8:00pm ET
The Thunder have been on fire offensively, posting 110 or more points in six of their past seven outings. As such, most of their players have been great fantasy values. One guy who hasn’t been enjoying a lot of success has been SG Kevin Martin ($91K), who posted 26 fantasy points in a three-game span from Nov. 23-26. However, Martin posted 22 fantasy points in a rematch with his former teammates Wednesday. At this salary level, he might be a decent addition if you’re in a salary crunch for one of your final couple of roster spots. Jazz PF/C Al Jefferson ($159K) (ankle) hasn’t been bothered by an ankle injury he suffered recently. He is good for 28 or more fantasy points in seven consecutive games, including a total of 70 fantasy points over the past two. OKC PF/C Nick Collison ($69K) has picked up the production lately, averaging 15.8 fantasy points per game over his past five outings.
Milwaukee Bucks at Minnesota Timberwolves 8:00pm ET
It’s hard to believe these two franchises are separated by less than 400 miles, yet one is in the Eastern Conference, and one is in the Western Conference. Timberwolves PF/C Kevin Love ($198K) continues to chug along, posting 30 or more fantasy points in each of his five games this season since returning from a broken hand. PG Luke Ridnour ($92K) has managed a total of 46 fantasy points over his past two games, making him a solid value at this price level. Bucks swingman Mike Dunleavy ($98K) has tailed off over the past four games, posting 19 or fewer points in each contest after posting 66 total fantasy points in two games from Nov. 17-19.
Indiana Pacers at Sacramento Kings 10:00pm ET
Kings PG Aaron Brooks ($74K) has averaged 19.8 fantasy points per game over his past four outings, making him a tremendous buy at this price level. The Kings allow an average of 99.6 points per game, making Pacers SG/PG George Hill ($115K) worth a look. He is good for 20 or more fantasy points in each of his past four outings. Pacers reserve PF Tyler Hansbrough ($61K) is good for 10 or more fantasy points in eight of his past 10 games. While he manages between 15-20 minutes per game, he can still be a productive last roster spot fill-in if you are desperate for salary relief to spend big at the top of your roster.
Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers 10:30pm ET
Nuggets swingman Andre Iguodala ($124K) might be in a foul mood in this one. He had a game-winning 3-pointer waved off after instant replay in Golden State Thursday night. He still finished with 33 fantasy points, giving him 25 or more fantasy points in four of his past five. C JaVale McGee ($89K) went for 11 points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes Thursday, giving him an average of 17.0 fantasy points over his past four outings. Lakers SG Kobe Bryant ($179K) posted 49 fantasy points in his latest game Tuesday against Indiana, and he has gone for 40 or more fantasy points in six of his past 10.
