Daily Fantasy NBA Player Picks for Thursday 4/5/12

There are just four games on tap in the National Basketball Association Thursday night, but there are plenty of fantasy stars to go around. Be careful with Orlando’s Dwight Howard. He is expected to return, but is not 100 percent, so be sure to check the news frequently leading up to game time. The fantasy game of the night might actually be the Clippers-Kings matchup, especially since Sacramento allows a league-worst 104.1 points per game.

New York Knicks at Orlando Magic 7pm ET

Magic C Dwight Howard (back) is expected to play, but you’ll want to check Twitter and the news reports all the way up to tip just to be sure. Knicks swingman J.R. Smith ($101K) won’t be suspended for a flagrant foul Tuesday against Toronto, so use him as you normally would. Magic PF/C Glen Davis ($154K) has been hot lately. Big Baby has gone for 86 total fantasy points over his past two games with Howard sidelined, including 49 fantasy points Tuesday against Detroit. If Howard cannot go again in this one, Davis would be a good play. If Howard is able to play, Davis likely gets you only 20-25 fantasy points tops, so be careful.

Washington Wizards at Detroit Pistons 7:30pm ET

Wizards PF/C Nene Hilario (foot) is unlikely to play in this one, so PF/C Kevin Seraphin ($90K) will once agian be a solid play. He had 15 or more fantasy points in each of his past seven games, and at least 24 fantasy points in three of his past four. PF Trevor Booker (foot) has a little bit better of a shot of returning for this one, but he is too risky to use at $78K. Wizards PG John Wall ($124K) took a step backwards last night, hitting just 4 of 15 field goal attempts. Look for Wall to bounce back into the 20-25 fantasy point range. He had 33 fantasy points in his last game against the Pistons March 26.

Boston Celtics at Chicago Bulls 9:30pm ET

Celtics SG Ray Allen (ankle) returned after a six-game absence and posted 18 fantasy points. At $98K, he might be a risky play with an immediate back-to-back situation. It’s possible his minutes might be limited. SG Avery Bradley led the team in scoring Tuesday against San Antonio, posting 19 points in 34 minutes. At $88K, he might be a decent play. He has 13 or more fantasy points in each of his past six, although his role should decrease with Allen back in the mix. Bulls PG Derrick Rose ($186K) is not yet running at top speed, although there is a sliver of a chance he could play in this one. Still, he is way too risky at $186K, as he is the equivalent of doubtful.

Los Angeles Clippers at Sacramento Kings 10pm ET

The solid play of SG/PG Randy Foye ($109K) continues, as he has 20 or more fantasy points in each of his past four games. He slipped a little Tuesday, managing just 5 of 13 from the field, but he is still a fine play, especially against an awful Kings defense. Clippers SG/PG Eric Bledsoe ($65K) might be a deep sleeper. He is averaging 13.7 fantasy points per game over his past three. Kings swingman Terrence Williams ($126K) has surprised, posting 29 fantasy points in each of his past two outings.
