Last Call: NBA Nightcap for 3/1/13

By Jimmer Simpson (Jamez31)

Packed night yesterday in the NBA, with most of the daily fantasy world excited for the prospects of Utah Jazz center Enes Kanter.  Friday’s worst kept secret in daily fantasy got the start for Al Jefferson and put up a 20-20, finishing with 43 fantasy points.  Priced at $55k, he was in 45.8 percent of Jouster lineups yesterday, and probably should have been more.  Of course, this performance was against the Bobcats, who are pretty much playing like stray cats at this point.  I mean, can we just change their logo to a frightened kitten peeking out of a wet cardboard box? Would anybody notice?  Either way, Jousters won’t complain if Jefferson takes his time coming back from his injury.

Daily Joust had another $55 Super Joust V qualifier on Friday, with the high score of 273 by expert Jouster and friend of the site bowens1984.  He and smackalicious get a free seat to the big week-long tourney later this month.  Tough luck “loser” of the night goes to stlcardinals84, who took home the first cash prize led by the late game stats of Kevin Durant.  He was on undoubtedly on his way to a free seat of his own, but the big shot antics of Ty Lawson prevented the late game from going into overtime.  Stlcardinals84 will have to settle for all the action he received as the beneficiary of Daily Joust’s newest SJ V promotion.

Biggest disappointment tonight definitely belonged to Josh Smith, who even at $171k was in a quarter of Jouster lineups for his game against the Suns.  He rewarded their faith by posting up a 17 point dud.    No, we’re not mad Josh.  The Suns have been tough this year.  Jerk.  A lot of Jousters looking for value tonight were a little disappointed with the play of Donatas Motiejunas, Shaun Livingston, and Beno Udrih.  All had good prices and promises of big time playing time.  All below $90k and three of the top eight owned players yesterday, they let Jousters down since none of them even reached 20 points.  In fact, some unnamed Jousters played all three to appease the price tag of the aforementioned Josh Smith.  So that went well.

Big week on tap at Daily Joust, with a couple of $50,000 Super Joust V qualifiers right at the beginning of the week.  The Jan/Feb top depositor free roll is on Monday, March 4and the mbomb44/kaiseroll13 free roll is on Wednesday.  Great brand new lineup feature is also now available, allowing Jousters to now change a whole lineup entirely or just to make a position switch on its own.  More useful resources implemented thanks to community feedback.  Good job guys and I’ll see you in the free rolls!
